What we need…
Designation of jobs at financial service firms for students who complete Operation Wall Street training. There’s no set procedure or formal “set-aside” to make a job available to a wounded warrior, but we’ll work constructively with your firm to create a training/hiring package which supports your business needs as well as the trainee’s career goals. Interested firms should contact the Foundation director. All firms providing jobs to program graduates receive designation and recognition as Partners of the Wall Street Warfighters Foundation.
Donation of business technology, training materials, and other resources used in training activity. We’re also interested in hearing from career training professionals, some of whom have already donated their time and expertise to make our training best-of-breed. In time we hope to partner with educational institutions to make academic credit and certification available to volunteer trainers.
Mini-internships. For part of their training, students spend several days, or as much as several weeks, onsite at partner firms, gaining hands-on understanding of what they do. Goldman Sachs has taken the lead in offering these “mini-internships,” but many other firms have expressed interest in hosting our trainees. We believe this experience is key to finding the right match between trainees’ goals and firms’ needs.
Logistical support for training and networking events. Our Partners and Sponsors have already generously given food, beverages, catering support and venue availability for Operation Wall Street professional development events. We recognize networking as a crucial part of building any professional career. Our trainees returning from long overseas service and medical rehabilitation benefit immensely.
